August 19, 2009 - Leave a Response

A very creative blogger has gone and done something very cool. Turned the Ghostbusters into Simpsons characters. I can only wish that a future Treehouse of Terror halloween episode feature these guys. Heres hoping. You can check out more on Dean’s blog. He even has the step by step process with more images of how he made such a cool cross over.

In the year 1983…

July 22, 2009 - Leave a Response

One Flickr user has done one hell of a job making this Photoshop mock-up. It’s bascially as if Apple had their webpage in 1983. What would it look like? Good job on the BASIC up top. However I really wish I could take a tour with the Lisa. ::sigh::

Remember This? VI: Michael Jackson tribute edition

Captain EO!

This was the first time I ever laid eyes on MJ. Anyone remember this? I had to always see this at Disneyland when I went to visit when I was a kid. My first 3D movie too!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

He gave us the MOONWALK!

By far one of the greatest entertainers of our time. He was a true American Pop Culture icon. I am deeply saddened that he passed away. He was probably one of the first musical artists that I remember listening to as a kid like so many other people. You grew up with him. Its very weird to think about. But this the equivalent of Elvis dying for our generation. Its big. Probably because he has touched so many of our lives. You can crack jokes from here to tomorrow about him. I know I have in the past. But what he has given to the musical community. Hell, what he’s given to pop culture in general has given him legendary status. His accomplishments go on forever and rightfully so as he has made sure that his staple in pop culture history as the King of Pop will live on forever.

So its with that, that I leave you with my favorite Michael Jackson song ever. “Beat It” off his most successful record ever, “Thriller.” Its the live version which I think is fitting. What he brought to the stage was remarkable. No one could dance like he could. Hell, no one might come close for years to come. Dancers are always saying how they looked to him for inspiration. I think he shows it off pretty well here. Enjoy it.

RIP Michael 1958-2009

You know that cute little desk lamp Luxo Jr.? You know the one thats basically Pixar’s mascot and appears in the Pixar logo before every one of their films?

Its originally from its own Pixar short. But now it has found actual life and debuted yesterday at the Disney Hollywood Studios in Florida. Check out the clip!

Search for MP3s the easy way

June 19, 2009 - Leave a Response

I know, I know there are lots of ways to get MP3s. P2P, torrents, usenet, the good ol’ fashioned legal way. There is also one other form of finding MP3s that a lot of people don’t know about. Its actually pretty efficient. Its called Google. Heres how…

1. Fire up your trusty browser (your probably using it right now) then load up Google (of course).

2. Put this in the search box:

“parent directory” mp3 OR wma OR ogg OR wav “filename” -html -htm -download -links
(so where "filename" is just replace that with what your searching for... haha. Without the quotation marks of course.)

3. You should see a list of results. All these results will provide direct links to directories. Usually including what you where looking for and other gems.

4. Have fun!

Its pretty straight forward and super easy. The added bonus is there no extra software to install or anything. You know instead of using one of those virus filled P2P programs for that one song you have to have. Not anymore with this useful google hack. Enjoy!

Remember This? V Saved By The Bell Edition

June 9, 2009 - Leave a Response

In light of Jimmy Fallon having the best guest since his show started last night, freaking Zack Morris!! Or if you have to call him by his real name, Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Here is the original opening of what was to become Saved By The Bell.

Good Morning, Miss Bliss was with Hayley Mills (you know her from the original Parent Trap and other Disney movies). It was going to only center around her and focus very little on her students. However NBC thought the show could go in another direction and canned it. Kept 3 of the original kids, Zack, Screech, and Lisa Turtle, and of course Mr. Belding. Then just rebranded it focusing just on the teens. It worked! And now 20 years later, its still popular!

If you remember, once Saved By The Bell got extremely popular, they started to air these earlier episodes with a little intro by Zack. They only ever aired 6 episodes from the show.

And oh, if you want to see Zack on Jimmy Fallon, click here to watch it on Hulu.
